says Apple will open an Apple Store on St John’s Island in the Bahamas in the summer.
The company has been eyeing the island since last year, when it was named a potential hub for Apple retail, after the company was approached by the local community to build a retail presence.
Apple is not the only company exploring the Bahamas, either.
Other big names like Amazon and Walmart are also exploring the country, but the report notes the company has not confirmed any plans.
In addition to the Bahamas’ location, the Wall St Journal says Apple is also planning to open an additional store in the country’s capital, Fort Lauderdale, in the coming months.
The island is the only one in the U.S. to have a public, publicly owned and operated airport, which is in addition to a number of other features like a museum, aquarium, and marina.
Apple has said it would open a second Apple Store and a third one in New York City.
