With just under three weeks to go until the start of their reunion, ‘The Great Generation’ will embark on a five-day cruise through Australia, New Zealand and New South Wales to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Great Barrier Reef.
The group will travel from Darwin to Sydney, from Sydney to Darwin, and from Darwin back to Sydney.
The crew is looking forward to sharing their memories with guests and families during the six-week, three-city trip.
“We want to remember our time together as one family, and as a family, that’s what this voyage is all about,” the group’s new owner, Alan Bischoff, said in a statement.
“As a family we’ll be spending the time with our children and grandkids.
We want to share our memories together.”
The group’s reunion will take place on August 17-19 at the Coral Sea Lodge in Darwin, the group said.
The ship is set to dock at Darwin Port on August 23.
The ‘Great Generation’ has been in Australia since the late 1990s and has been a popular destination for reunions and special events.
The Australian government will pay for the cruise, which will be operated by the group.
