By Ben CurtisCNN|September 08, 2018 07:07:25When the Fiji international Fiji Natal striker Keita Matagi returned to training earlier this month, he said he hoped to be in action within a month or two.
The Fiji player is among several players to miss a number of games with a thigh injury.
Matagi was a key member of Fiji’s Under-20 World Cup winning side in 2018 and has played in six games this season, starting on the right wing.
The injury has forced Matagi to miss six matches and will see him out of action until at least November, as he continues rehabilitation.
Fiji have only lost once in their last eight matches, losing to Samoa in their opening game of 2018.
The Under-18s have won five of their last six matches.
Fijian Under-19 coach David Gildernew says he has no problem with Matagi playing at this time of year.
“We’re happy with the result of the internationals, it’s a big challenge for us and we’ll take it,” Gildenew told Fiji Today.
We’ve got a lot of young players at the club and we’re looking forward to seeing what happens this time.”
